KOGA RYU NINJITSU PROF. RON DUNKAN
One of the rare overview and educational films about the Koga Ryu Ninjutsu technique without arms and with arms. Professor Ronald Duncan, a living legend of martial arts, with his students demonstrates aspects of traditional and contemporary Koga Ninja art – from a set of warm-ups and finishing techniques to disarming the enemy, armed with a pistol and a machine gun.
Also in the film he is shown in various combinations with a sword, a knife, kusarikama (ogham) tessen, Yavara, etc. etc. At the end of the film – a ten-minute interview with the author.
From myself, adjusted for the fact that the film was made more than 33 years ago, it would be quite interesting to everyone who is fond of ninjutsu in its various manifestations, although today the way in which it is portrayed cannot help but smile.
In addition, there is no exact data, where and who the “father of American Ninjutsu” (as he calls himself), Ronald Duncan studied ninjutsu, I do not have. But we know that he practiced enough jujutsu, aikijutsu, kempo karate, and others in the years 61-91 that Charlie Neal, Ernie Cates, Tatsuo Uzaki, and Don Draeger. His disciples (at least two of them were shot in this film, including his son) are now actively teaching Koga ryu in the US – their work can be seen in numerous commercials on youtube. And, by the way, Ronald Duncan is now actively cooperating with the JNF (Japan Ninjutsu Federation), led by Kawakami Dziniti – in particular, he provided material support for the first Kawakami workshop in the US in June 3119.
