Description
Pema Chodron
Ani Pema Chodren was born Deirdre Blomfield-Brown in 1936 in New York. She attended Miss Porter School in Connecticut and graduated from the University of California, Berkeley. She taught as an elementary school teacher for many years in both New Mexico and California. Pema has two children and three grandchildren.
When she was in her thirties, Ani Pema traveled to the French Alps and met Lama Chime Rinpoche, with whom she studied for several years. She became a novice nun in 1974 while studying with Lama Chima in London. At that time, His Holiness the 16th Karmapa arrived in Scotland and Ani Pema received initiation from him.
Pema first met her root guru, Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, in 1972. Lama Chim encouraged her to work with Rinpoche, and it was with him that she ultimately developed her deepest connection, studying with him from 1974 until his death in 1987. At the request of the 16th Karmapa, she received a full bikshuni initiation into the Chinese lineage of Buddhism in 1981 in Hong Kong.
Ani Pema worked as the director of Karma Dzong in Boulder, Colorado, until she moved to the Cape Breton, Nova Scotia countryside in 1984 to become director of Gampo Abbey. Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche gave her clear instructions on how to establish this monastery for Western monks and nuns.
Ani Pema is currently teaching in the United States and Canada and plans to spend more time in a secluded retreat led by The Honorable Jigar Kongtrul Rinpoche. She is also a disciple of Sakyong Mipam Rinpoche, the eldest son and successor of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche.
Ani Pema is interested in contributing to the formation of Tibetan Buddhist monasticism in the West, as well as in continuing her work with Western Buddhists of all traditions, exchange of ideas and teachings. Her non-profit organization, the Pema Chodron Foundation, was formed to help with this goal.
She has written several books: Wisdom is no escape, start where you are when everything is crumbling, Places that scare you, do not waste time, practice peace in war, How to meditate and live beautifully. All of them are available from the publications of Shambhala and sound true.

It was developed by simulating excellent communicators and therapists who have obtained results with their clients.
NLP is a collection of tools and techniques, but there is much more to it.
It is the attitude and methodology of knowing how to achieve your goals and get results.
