Therefore, it is essential that professionals in mental health, healthcare and education have as much up-to-date knowledge as possible of this adult disorder and its treatment.
This presentation provides up-to-date information about the nature of adhd, comorbidity, adjustment disorders, and the pathogenesis of adhd that occurs in adulthood. Dr. Barkley provides an overview of the most effective treatment strategies, especially focusing on counseling, medication, and workplace/educational facilities.

Russell A.Barkley, PH.D.Is a clinical professor of psychiatry at the Virginia Treatment Center for children and the Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center, Richmond, VA. He specializes in clinical psychology (ABPP), clinical childhood and Adolescent Psychology, and clinical neuropsychology (ABCN, ABPP). Dr. Barkley is a clinical scientist, educator, and practitioner, and publishes 23 books, a rating scale, and the 41st edition of the clinical manual. He has also published more than 270 scientific papers and book chapters related to the nature, assessment, and treatment of ADHD and related disorders, and is the author of a book managing ADHD at school (PESI, 2016).
He is now the founder and editor of a bi-monthly clinical newsletter, The publication’s 25-year ADHD report.
